Aaron Metcalfe

Aaron was born in Bradford and has always lived in the city, spending a lot of his childhood growing up in Girlington. After studying GCSEs and A-Levels at Dixons City, he completed a degree in Primary Education at Bradford College. He started his career as an NQT at Whetley Academy, before later moving to Southmere Primary Academy as Assistant Principal and Maths Lead. Whilst working in schools that were part of the Delta Academies Trust, Aaron was promoted to an Associate Head of Academy role where he was supporting leadership teams within the trust across Leeds, Doncaster, Rotherham and Mexborough to improve school culture and pupil outcomes.

In January 2022, Aaron returned to working in the Bradford community, as Primary Deputy Head at Dixons Allerton Academy. He couldn’t turn down the opportunity to work in the community he is most passionate about, allowing him to challenge educational and social disadvantage. He is a strong believer that all children deserve to grow up in a safe, loving environment and all children should be facilitated with the opportunity to have ambitious life choices.

In January 2024, Aaron was given the privilege of becoming Acting Head of Primary and is incredibly excited for what the future brings.
